This site collects minimal, non-identifying information:

• Automated status checks: this site pings Instagram’s public servers periodically to measure availability. This process does not involve your data in any way.
• Community reports: when you click “I’m having problems” or “Working fine for me,” we store the report type, a timestamp, and an anonymous browser fingerprint (derived from non-identifying signals like browser type and timezone, hashed and not reversible to identify you personally). This is used only to prevent repeated submissions from the same browser within a short window.
• Contact form submissions: if you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message you choose to provide, solely to respond to your inquiry.
• Basic analytics: we may use standard, privacy-respecting website analytics to understand overall traffic patterns (e.g. page views, general geographic region). We do not sell this data.

What We Don’t Collect

We do not collect your Instagram login credentials, account information, or any data from your Instagram account. We do not require account creation or login to use this site.

Cookies & Local Storage

This site uses browser local storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to remember whether you’ve recently submitted a community report, so we can prevent spam. This information stays in your browser and is not transmitted as personally identifying data.

Third-Party Services

This site is built using Supabase for backend data storage. Supabase’s own privacy practices govern data stored on their infrastructure.

Data Retention

Automated ping check records are retained for 90 days and then automatically deleted. Community reports are retained in aggregate for historical/trend purposes but are anonymous by design.

You may contact us at any time to ask what information, if any, is associated with a contact form submission you’ve made, or to request its deletion.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
