About This Site

This site was built to answer a simple question quickly: is Instagram actually down, or is something else going on?

Most “is it down” tools show a single ping result and stop there. We wanted something more useful — a tool that combines automated server monitoring, real user reports, and a documented history of past incidents, alongside plain-language explanations of the most common causes people mistake for outages, like Action Blocks and shadowbans.

How Our Monitoring Works

An automated system checks Instagram’s availability every 5 minutes and measures response times. This data feeds the live status badge and the response time chart on our homepage.

Community Reports

Alongside automated checks, visitors can report whether they’re personally experiencing problems. These reports are aggregated anonymously and factored into our overall status assessment when there’s a clear, statistically meaningful spike.

Our Approach to Accuracy

We aim to distinguish clearly between real platform-wide outages and account-specific or local issues, since these require completely different fixes. Our historical incident log combines real documented events with data automatically detected by our own monitoring.
